About LaxEd Indiana
and Why Does Lacrosse Matter?
LaxEdIN is a nonprofit initiative led by volunteers, dedicated to expanding the reach of lacrosse in Indiana by incorporating the sport into schools at every level. We are backed by a growing community of individual and corporate donors who share our vision that lacrosse can inspire, educate, and unite communities.
Our team consists of individuals with years of firsthand experience, not only as players but also as coaches, organizers, and administrators of successful lacrosse programs. This wealth of experience provides us with a unique insight into what it takes to create sustainable, school-based opportunities.
Our efforts are driven by passion, service, and the belief that every child should have access to quality athletic experiences. Alongside teaching the fundamentals of the game, we are dedicated to educating youth about the Native American origins of lacrosse, honoring its history and sharing the cultural significance of the game with each new generation.

Our Initiatives
We implement impactful programs that expand the reach of lacrosse, promote teamwork, and provide opportunities for personal growth, creating a more united community for all.
Our Goals
To offer meaningful access to lacrosse for Indiana students by:
-
Introducing the sport through physical education programs at the elementary and middle school levels (FLex6 Lacrosse)
-
Supporting the establishment of rec-league youth programs, girls’ high school teams eligible for IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association) sanctioning, and boys’ club programs
-
Training and equipping adult coaches to serve as knowledgeable and reliable mentors, capable of building safe, developmentally appropriate, and sustainable lacrosse programs in their schools and communities
-
Promoting physical literacy, teamwork, cultural awareness, and equitable athletic opportunities
-
Educating students about the Native American roots of lacrosse and its historical and cultural significance, fostering respect for its origins and the communities that created it

Championing the Growth of Lacrosse
We advocate for policies that support the expansion of lacrosse in schools, working with educational institutions, local governments, and sports organizations to create sustainable opportunities for youth.
Our School Integration Program aims to introduce lacrosse to schools, providing the tools and resources to incorporate the sport into physical education curriculums and after-school activities. The Youth Development Program focuses on mentorship, skill-building, and character development through lacrosse.
